KOMPAS.com - Indonesia's top telecom firm PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) and Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) have officially appointed Indonesia's former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubandio as the new president commissioner of Telkomsel.
With nearly 26 years of experience in the creative industry, he is considered a figure who has extensive experience in the digital technology industry.
Telkom's SVP of Corporate Communication & Investor Relations, Ahmad Reza, in a statement welcomed Wishnutama as one of the company's commissioners.

"The Management of Telkom Group would like to give our warmest welcome to Wishnutama as the President Commissioner of Telkomsel," said Reza in a statement on Thursday, February 11.
"It is a good thing for Telkom Group, especially Telkomsel, considering that he is a person who understands digital technology with extensive experience in the digital industry," added Reza.
Wishnutama will effectively assume President Commissioner's position starting on February 11, replacing Ririek Adriansyah.
Reza hoped that Wishnutama could develop a strategy for the company which will be beneficial for the nation.
Previously, rumors of Wishnutama's appointment as President Director of Telkomsel had been circulating since last week.
Some officials familiar with the matter said that the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry had sent a letter assigning Wishnutama to serve as the company's president commissioner.
