Indonesia's top telecom firm PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) and Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) have officially appointed Indonesia's former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama Kusubandio as the new president commissioner of Telkomsel.
Wishnutama will effectively assume the position at the country’s largest mobile phone operator starting from February 11, replacing Ririek Adriansyah.
With nearly 26 years of experience in the creative industry, Wishnutama has extensive experience in the digital technology industry.
Telkom's SVP of Corporate Communication & Investor Relations, Ahmad Reza, in a statement welcomed Wishnutama as one of the company's commissioners.
"The Management of Telkom Group would like to give our warmest welcome to Wishnutama as the President Commissioner of Telkomsel," said Reza in a statement on Thursday, February 11.
"It is a good thing for Telkom Group, especially Telkomsel, considering that he is a person who understands digital technology with extensive experience in the digital industry," added Reza.
