The request to fly in the Chinese workers was made by PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia.

Doing so requires employing 500 Chinese workers in Indonesia.
The Chinese workers are tasked to accelerate the project completion of a smelter factory and a thermal power station in order for it to start operating in 2021.
The target is in keeping with that set by Luhut Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, during a visit to the new project location in Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi.
