PM Modi's 'Living as One Big Family' Speech to Indian Diaspora in Indonesia

The Indian Prime Minister comes as a unique package where the poor relates to his humble beginning, the rich relates to his progressive life, and the intelligentsia relates to his huge knowledge, repertoire of subjects and extraordinary oratory skills, and clear vision of the future.

It is not hard to find that many homes would love to have a child like him, a brother, or even a head of the family like him. This is the extent to which the phenomenon called Modi has impacted the common masses. It is not just the Indian-origin community or the Hindus in Indonesia but the common masses that appreciate the Indian Prime Minister.

His speech translated into the local language has been referred to many times. His pictures with the Indonesian President have made headlines throughout this nation of thousands of Islands, varied cultures, and demographic diversities that just like India believes in humanity and oneness of the nation under the banner of “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika” which stands for Unity in Diversity.

Modi’s message is clear – if we want to be different, we can be different and separated even in one home but if we want to bond ourselves in love and co-existence, then the whole world is just one big family. He didn’t fail to mention “Vasudev Kutumbhakkam” in his address to the Indian diaspora on November 15 at the Prime Plaza convention center that was attended by thousands of Indians but heard by millions of Indonesians as well with the same fervor and warmth.
