BERN, KOMPAS.com – The body of the oldest son of an Indonesian Regional Governor Ridwan Kamil, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, was found on Wednesday, June 8 at about 6:50 a.m. local time.
Bern City Police said in a statement on Thursday, June 9, they received a report that a lifeless man was rescued from the Aare River at the Engehalde dam. The deceased is an Indonesian citizen who had an accident in the Aare River on May 26, 2022.
The police reported that Emmeril, who was also known as Eril, was lying in the water at the Engehalde weir in Bern. Specialists from the marine police were able to locate the body in the overflow basin of the weir before the body was rescued.

The forensic investigations revealed that the deceased was an Indonesian national who had been missing in the Aare River since Thursday, May 26, 2022. The 22-year-old went swimming in the river and got into an emergency. He drowned as a result of this accident, the statement added.
Since the man went missing, intensive search measures have been done. Numerous emergency services searched for the missing person on both land and water. Among other things, drones, boats, divers, and sniffer dogs were deployed. All investigations are now complete.
