JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) Anti-terror Team of the National Police arrested 24 terror suspects in Central Sulawesi, West Java’s Bekasi, and East Kalimantan on Saturday, May 14, an official confirmed.
National Police spokesperson Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said they are allegedly members of the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) terrorist group in Poso, Central Sulawesi, and the outlawed Daulah Islamiah under the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group.

“Policemen from Indonesia’s elite anti-terrorism unit Densus 88 arrested 24 alleged suspected terrorists who are part of MIT terror network in Poso and ISIS,” Ramadhan said in a statement on Monday, May 16.
However, he did not provide details on their identities in the alleged terrorism-related offenses. Ramadhan said 22 people were arrested in Central Sulawesi, while two others were in West Java’s Bekasi and East Kalimantan, respectively.
“The arrest took place on Saturday, May 14,” he added.
