JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) Anti-terror Team of the National Police have arrested three suspected terrorists in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and Bangka Belitung on Sumatra island on Wednesday, June 30.
“Two suspected terrorists identified by initial BS and SY have been arrested,” said a spokesperson for the National Police Senior Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan.
Ramadhan said that BS and SY were arrested in East Jakarta and West Jakarta, respectively.
Meanwhile, AS was arrested by the Bangka Belitung Task Force of the Anti-terror Squad on Sumatra island on the same day.
The police said that BS and SY were the recipients of the package sent by AS.
During the operation, the anti-terror squad confiscated six weapons, two knives, hundreds of bullets, and other goods, Ramadhan added.
He explained that the three terror suspects were allegedly linked to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), a terror group that supports the Islamic State extremists.
