Indonesian Movie Theaters Reopen for Public, Ensure Cleanliness
Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, assured that cinemas would strictly apply the hygiene protocol of CHSE (cleanliness, health, safety, and environment) for the public.
"Today we proved it when watching the film 'Kartini'. We want to make sure that the cinema is safe and comfortable following the implementation of the CHSE health protocol [cleanliness, health, safety & environment sustainability],” Sandiaga said in his Instagram account Monday, April 12.
During his visit to the Metropole Cinema in Jakarta, Sandiaga said that the reopening of theaters is one of the efforts to revive the economy and create jobs amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
He called for the public to watch Indonesian movies. He said that the country’s film industry has been hit hard by coronavirus as the cinemas across the country were closed for a year.
