First Indonesia's Culinary Business School Launched in West Java

KOMPAS.com - Foodizz, a start-up founded in 2018 and known as the first educational platform in the food and beverage sector in Indonesia, launched the unprecedented program of Culinary Business School in the country.

"We see big gaps in culinary businesses that could potentially lead to business failure," said Foodizz chief executive officer Rex Marindo on Saturday, April 10.

Rex, who is also known as one of the food entrepreneurs in Indonesia, said that a lack of comprehensive knowledge is one of the reasons why most culinary businesses fail.

"Therefore, Foodizz is here to provide education and narrow the gap by launching the latest educational program, namely the Culinary Business School," said Rex.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, in a statement also welcomed the initiative. 

“I hope that the Culinary Business School can produce more food entrepreneurs in Indonesia who can compete in the global market,” said Sandiaga on Saturday, April 10.

Culinary Business School, which is based in Bandung, West Java, is an integrated curriculum-based learning program based on the theoretical background, field reality, and case studies from the workshops.

Participants who live away from Bandung city can still take part in the program through its online classes. The school aims to attract beginners in the culinary business field.

“We hope that the Culinary Business School will help realize the vision and mission of Foodizz,” said Rex Marindo.

He set a target of creating 15 million jobs from five million entrepreneurs in the food and beverage sector. He also wanted to bring local culinary businesses to a global level. Previously, Foodizz claimed to have trained more than 10,000 culinary entrepreneurs in Indonesia through its workshop programs and courses.
