Taco Bell Opens in Jakarta in Time for the Holidays

KOMPAS.com – A new Mexican food restaurant recently opened its doors to hungry and curious customers in Jakarta’s Senopati district.

The US fast-food chain officially made its debut on December 18 and foodies in search of where to eat in Jakarta for Mexican food can now rest easy.

Now that the restaurant chain is no longer restricted to Hollywood movies, the curious-minded foodies can finally unravel what makes Taco Bell a cult fast-food staple.

Kompas.com had the opportunity to try out some of the signature items from the US restaurant that is found in nearly 30 countries with Indonesia as its latest venture.

Known to have popularized Mexican food to the world, you can find burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and tacos at this Mexican food restaurant in Jakarta.

To ensure its success in Indonesia’s food and beverage industry in 2020, the company has adjusted the flavors and tastes to the Indonesian palate.

“We have undertaken a long journey since 2018 to get Taco Bell to Indonesia,” said GM of Marketing for Fast Food Indonesia Hendra Yuniarto.

Now that we know where to eat in Jakarta for Mexican food, it was time for Kompas.com’s team to savor some of the signature menus to see if it lives up to the challenge.

Our team tried the Taco Supreme, Bell Rice, and Loaded Nachos at this up-and-coming Mexican food restaurant in Jakarta.

The Taco Supreme is a traditional Mexican dish that uses a crispy tortilla wrap.

Generously loaded with seasoned ground beef, tomato salsa, onion, sour cream, and cheddar cheese, the Taco Supreme is a packed dish full of deliciousness.

“The portions at Taco Bell Indonesia have been adjusted to the size offered in the United States as per the regulations from the headquarter.”
