Tito Karnavian expects regional heads across the country to pay better attention to public health protocols which are governed under Presidential Decree Number 6 Year 2020.

He added that mitigating Covid-19 in Indonesia is part of a challenge for regional heads.

IDI Chairman, Daeng has asked members of the public to assist the government and medical workers in fighting Covid-19.

The novel virus has so far claimed the lives of nearly 200 doctors in Indonesia.

To break the chain of transmission, citizens and residents can take a more proactive stance regarding testing and tracing measures.

“Frankly, the pandemic is not the sole responsibility of medical workers or government, but for all of us. The pandemic affects every person and region, and we must fight it together.”

Daeng explained that the concern with weak adherence to tracing and testing is the potential of the virus transmission to spread even more. Other means that the public can take include following existing Covid-19 health protocols.
