This legendary Yogyakarta food stall is well-known to students of Gadjah Mada University where it has been operating since the 1950s.
Located at Jalan Agro CT VII Klebengan, Selokan Mataram, you can get a portion of the street food for $1.37 (Rp 20,000) when it opens from 7 A.M. – 8 P.M.

The peanut sauce at this eatery has a waterier consistency but is packed with flavor that has made it a leader when it comes to the Yogyakarta street food scene.
4. Nasi Pecel Wader Pak Bejo
This Yogyakarta street food stall is unique thanks to its use of fried common barb tossed with an onion chili sauce and shrimp paste.
Pak Bejo began his food venture selling Indonesian shaved ice then gradually expanded his menu to add Indonesian Chicken Soup, Indonesian Rice Cake with Peanut Sauce, and his infamous pecel wader.

Open from 6:30am-4pm every day except Fridays, you can swoop in on Pak Bejo’s rendition of the classic Indonesian food for $1.02 (Rp 15,000) a portion.
5. Nasi Pecel Yu Sri
Originally hailing from the city of Semarang, the eatery opened its Yogyakarta branch in 2004 and has been going strong with its $0.55 (Rp 8,000) traditional Indonesian rice dish.
Located at Jalan Palagan Tentara Pelajar KM. 9, Nomor 8, Sleman, this Yogyakarta food stall operates from 8am-9pm.
While its nasi pecel is the star of the menu, you can complement it with a side of traditional fried chicken on top of the fried traditional rice crackers that they provide.
