KPK Demands 10 Year Sentence For Disgraced Former Minister

The Attorney General’s Office also opened a separate investigation of into corruption in KONI. Retired Indonesian badminton great Taufik Hidayat is implicated in the case. He also admitted that corruption was rife in the ministry.

The scandal is not the first time the Youth and Sports Ministry have been implicated in corruption.

The Anti-Corruption Court also sentenced Imam's predecessor Andi Mallarangeng to a four year jail sentence in 2013, after he was named as a suspect in a graft case related to the construction of the Hambalang sports complex.
