JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The House of Representatives Commission III overseeing legal affairs has approved the nomination of Commissioner General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as national police chief, replacing his predecessor General Idham Azis who will retire this month.
“Leaders and members of the House of Representatives Commission III have agreed by acclamation the honorable discharge of Police Chief General Idham Azis and the appointment of Commissioner General Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the National Police Chief,” said Commission III chairman Herman Hery on Wednesday, January 20.
Based on this decision, Herman went on to say that Commission III will immediately send a letter to the House Speaker to schedule a plenary session for the formal confirmation.
The four-hour fit and proper test also saw the presentation of vision and mission by Sigit as a candidate for the National Police Chief.
The current Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) head also disclosed the programs he would implement during his first 100 days as the next Police chief.
He promised to resolve cases in Indonesia that caught the public attention.
“In the next 100 days, we have prepared programs that we can carry out immediately such as resolving cases that caught the public attention,” Listyo said.

Listyo further added that he would change the services provided at the sub-precinct police stations (Polsek).
“I am genuinely hopeful that everything could be done on time during the first 100 days, as well as the medium and long-term programs,” said Listyo.
