JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia's State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir has appointed Deputy National Police Chief, Commissioner General Gatot Eddy Pramono, as the new vice president commissioner of the state-owned defense firm PT Pindad at its annual shareholder's meeting on Monday, January 18. 

Gatot, who is also the deputy chief executive of Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery, replaced Major General TNI (Rtd) Sumardi.  

Minister Erick has also appointed independent commissioners comprising Major General TNI (Rtd) Sakkan Tampubolon, Alexandra Retno Wulan, and Arlan Septia. While Jaleswari Pramodhawardani has been named a commissioner.

Erick also dismissed several commissioners, such as Major General TNI (Rtd) Sumardi, Dr. Nurdin, Commissioner General (Rtd) Ari Dono, Major General TNI (Rtd) Endang Sodik. 

The appointment and dismissal of the board of commissioners were stated in the ministerial letter No. SK-17/MBU/01/2021 and was announced at PT Pindad's annual shareholder's meeting which was held virtually on Monday.  

Meanwhile, the meeting also appointed the company's board of directors as stated in the ministerial letter No. SK-16/MBU/01/2021.
