JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The House of Representatives (DPR) approved government regulation in lieu of law (Perppu) No.2/2022 on Job Creation to become law during a plenary meeting in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 21.
"We will ask again all participants in the session. Can the draft law regarding the stipulation of government regulation in lieu of law No. 2/2022 on Job Creation be approved?" House speaker Puan Maharani asked all participants.
On the occasion, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that the existence of the Job Creation Law should be maintained by the government, especially amid an economic situation hit by uncertainty.

Various derivatives of the Job Creation Law have become programs and policies that accelerate economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.
"The government along with relevant ministers express their gratitude and appreciation. Hopefully, this Perppu, which has been enacted as a law, becomes a great benefit to mitigate the impact of economic dynamics," he said.
However, two of the nine factions of the DPR – the Democratic Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) – voiced their refusal for the Perppu to be passed into law.
Previously, on Wednesday, March 15, the House of Representatives agreed to bring the Perppu on job creation to the plenary meeting.
