JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Ukraine’s Ambassador to Indonesia Vasyl Hamianin on Thursday, Jan. 12, called for the international community, including governments, to help rebuild infrastructures destroyed during Russia’s war against his country.
The envoy said that the Ukrainian government conducts negotiations to rebuild damaged infrastructures and to support families who have been suffering since the war broke out in February last year.
“I welcome all countries to participate in anything that will be done under the framework of the United Nations,” Hamianin said in a virtual message attended by foreign envoys and the media, among others.

He said that all efforts have been taken to prevent the escalation of war and the repetition of aggression.
Ukrainians need help in its infrastructure renewal as people live without water and electricity for days due to the limited energy distribution.
“I call on everyone to please convey the message to your governments,” said Hamianin, who was wearing I’m Ukrainian short-sleeved green t-shirt.

Media reported that civilians, including children, have endured devastation. Public buildings and other civilian structures have been destroyed. Million people have fled from their homes and families have been displaced because of the war.
