Previously, Bio Farma director Honesti Basyir said the firm has registered the results of phase 3 clinical trial to obtain market authorization from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM).
Honesti said Bio Farma has also completed the requirement for halal certification. If all goes according to plan, Bio Farma’s Covid-19 vaccine will be launched on August 17 when the country celebrates Independence Day.
“The President has prepared a special name for the state-owned Covid-19 vaccine and Bio Farma is in the process of registering the name with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Hopefully, on August 17, 2022, Indonesia will have its locally-produced vaccine as a gift to the country and to curb the spread of Covid-19,” Honesti said on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
