Retno underscored the importance of ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan. Indonesia hoped that an inclusive political process can still be done for the benefit of the Afghan citizens, including respecting the rights of women in Afghanistan.

“Indonesia remains committed to promoting peace in Afghanistan, especially building the cooperation in women’s empowerment,” Retno said.
Evacuation mission isn’t easy
The Indonesian Military (TNI) commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said this secret operation to evacuate the individuals from Afghanistan was not easy. Nevertheless, the mission has been a success. For that, he expressed his gratitude for the prayers and support from all Indonesian people.
“My sincere gratitude goes to all Indonesian people for your support and prayers during the no easy evacuation mission of Indonesian citizens in Kabul,” Hadi told a press conference on Saturday.
He said the evacuation team faced many difficulties and dynamic circumstances on the ground. "However, everything was done properly, and thanks for the good cooperation between ministries and institutions for making the operation possible as it ran safely and smoothly,” said Hadi.
