“Hours later, another group under Nau Waker burned three schools in Julukoma as they were retreating from Indonesian forces in Intan Jaya.” The killings continued Friday.

“An unidentified group of insurgents shot another teacher, who was identified as Yonatan Randen, at his home in Puncak regency’s Beoga district,” said Papua Regional Police spokesman Police Grand Commissioner M. Iqbal Alqudussy.

“Though he was rushed to a medical facility, he died on arrival.”

The Antaran state news agency also reported that the insurgents kidnapped a Junior High School teacher identified as Junedi Arung Salele, who was later rescued by the Indonesian army. The insurgents are still at large.

Police in Bali Arrest Three Uzbek Women for Prostitution

Police in the resort island of Bali has arrested three foreign nationals whom they suspected are involved in a prostitution ring at the city of Denpasar.

“We detained three Uzbek nationals whom we suspected are involved in prostitution, along with their 42-year old pimp, whom we identified as Robby alias PPM,” said Denpasar Police Department chief Police Grand Commissioner Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, as quoted by the Antara state news agency.

“Robby recruited the trio as prostitutes at a discotheque months before the Covid-19 pandemic struck Bali and the rest of Indonesia, along with an unknown number of foreign nationals in the past. He would then peddle them to customers via Whatsapp for Rp. 2.5 million [$171.05] per person.”

Jansen added that Robby will take his cut of Rp. 1 million, while his girls keep Rp. 1.5 million. “We received a tip from the public about the prostitution ring. An investigation of a hotel suspected to be used by the ring found two unmarried couples in different rooms, which proved our findings.”

He asserted that investigators arrested Robby at his boarding house in Denpasar shortly after. If found guilty, Robby and the girls he employed could face between 1 year to 1 year and 4 months in jail.
