Indonesian Civil Servants Affected by Floods Can Take Paid Leave up to a Month

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia's state civil service (ASN) who are affected by severe flooding in Greater Jakarta can apply for paid leave for important needs up to a month.

"Civil servants who are affected by the disaster, not only floods, can apply for leave for important needs," said a spokesperson for the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) Paryono on Monday, February 22.

Paryono said that the rules regarding ASN's leave for important needs have been mentioned in BKN Regulation No. 24/2017 on the Procedures of Civil Servant Leave.

Paryono went on to say that civil servants on leave for important needs still have the right to get fully paid.

The performance-based allowance, however, will be taken out as they don't come to work. 

"But for the occupational allowance will not be cut," he added.

Heavy rains in the last few days triggered floods that have inundated many areas in Greater Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan confirmed that all flood spots in Jakarta had receded 100 percent on Monday, February 22 at 03:00 am.

"On Monday at 3:00 am, the floods confirmed have receded 100 percent," said Anies on Monday, February 22.

Anies expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the people at the Jakarta Provincial Government in dealing with the negative impacts of the floods.
