Airlangga asserted that the head of state ordered that other measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 to be bolstered due to the increase in coronavirus cases since the end of 2020.

“President Jokowi urged for the standardization of [health ]masks used by the public to ensure the effectiveness of efforts to contain Covid-19. He also urged the increase in testing, tracing and treatment [of the coronavirus] to reduce transmission of the pandemic on the outset.”

Indonesia aims to vaccinate 70 percent of its population, or 182 million people, to achieve herd immunity against Covid-19 by March or April 2022.
