The restrictions in place throughout the Indonesian capital city have forced Jakarta Vice-Governor Ahmad Riza Patria to apologize to residents as they are prohibited from hosting any events to welcome the new year.
From music concerts to dance performances to fireworks, go-to New Year’s activities have been put on the backburner this year.
