“We found his remains later in the evening. On the other hand, the other passengers were safe after police and locals improvised a rescue operation.” Budy noted that there were 40 people on board the ship, though the vessel could only accommodate 21 passengers.
He added that police are still investigating aspects of the incident, including why the ship could have keeled over despite good weather.

Lion Air Flight Slips in Lampung, No Passengers or Crew Injured
A Lion Air flight from Batam to Lampung on Sunday, December 20 slipped, jolting passengers and crew who are otherwise unharmed.
“Lion Air flight JT-173 was flying in from Batam when it slipped shortly after landing. We need to cary out further investigations to determine the causes,” said Pujo Wusono, a spokesman for Lampung’s Radin Intan Airport.
“We evacuated those on board the flight. Fortunately, no one on board was injured,” he confirmed. Lion Air Corporate Communications Danang Mandala Prihantoro noted that the airline landed during a downpour.
“The airline was taxiing toward the terminal at low speed towards the terminal apron, when its fuselage got out of the runway,” he said in a press release.
Danang added that there were 125 passengers, including two children and a toddler, as well as seven crew members in the flight.
