Important Information on Bali Entry Restrictions for the Year-End Holiday

Regional Secretary of Bali Province Dewa Made Indra said that filling out the e-HAC card is compulsory for tourists before they disembark for Bali, as the measure helps to avoid a queue at the arrival gate of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

4. Always bring your Covid-19 test results

Bali also requires you to bring your Covid-19 test results with you throughout your trip.

The authorities have enforced this rule to ensure that your Covid-19 test results are still valid, otherwise, you will be required to take another rapid antigen test or swab test.

5. Maximum validity of Covid-19 test results

For the 2020 year-end holiday, the Bali Provincial Government has offered some leniency in terms of the validity of inbound tourists’ Covid-19 test results, be it for PCR and antigen tests.

Previously, the local government required that the test be no later than two days old prior to the departure date.

The updated Bali entry restrictions have been extended to a maximum of seven days.

The results of the tests are valid for the next 14 days since it was first issued, and it is deemed invalid once it exceeds the 14-day threshold.

6. Rapid antigen test at the Bali Airport

The operator of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has provided rapid antigen test services since December 18.

The cost of the test is Rp 170,000 per person.

7. Exceptions for Covid-19 testing

In the updated travel restrictions in Bali for the Christmas and New Year holiday, there are certain groups that are exempt from providing proof of a Covid-19 test though they are still allowed entry into the island.

Those exempted from the Bali entry restrictions include:

• Children under 12 years of age
• Flight crew
• Transit passengers
• Passengers of a diverted plane or a plane that made an emergency landing
• Civil servants, military personnel, and police officers on urgent assignments
