Pandemic Spending of Indonesia’s Lower Class Stimulates National Economy
Indonesia?s lower-class society has been keeping busy during the coronavirus pandemic by doing plenty of shopping, according to former Indonesian Finance Minister, Chatib Basri.

To spur restoration of the Indonesian economy, Chatib also suggests the government push the upper class to spend their money during the coronavirus pandemic.
This can be done by demonstrating to the upper-class Indonesians that the government’s Covid-19 response is adequate and solid.
“What needs to be done is for the lower class to keep spending supported by social assistance programs while encouraging the middle to upper class to spend.”
