KOMPAS.com – The Bali tourism scene is seeing some glimmer of hope as the domestic tourist arrivals have slowly started picking up.
Since October 23, Indonesia’s most sought-after tourist destination has had an average of 5,000 tourist arrivals per day, boosted by the long holiday break last month.
“The average number of domestic tourist arrivals [towards the end of October] was 5,000 people per day. There were days when that number reached 6,000 visitors per day and also 4,800 arrivals,” said Putu Astawa, Head of the Bali Tourism Agency.

Bali’s government data indicated an increase in tourist arrivals on the island between October 23-31 though it was fluctuating.
On October 23, there were 5,137 travelers to Bali, and on October 24-25, there were a respective 5,137 and 4,980 travelers per day.
For the period of October 26-31, there were 5,047, 6,305, 9,539, 6,800, 5,828, and 3,968 visitors, respectively.
Compared to previous months, the number of travelers entering the island in October and November is showing signs of improvement.

The average number of domestic arrivals into Bali between July 31 and early October hovered between 3,000-3,500 guests per day. Government data for the month of November has already put tourist arrivals at 5,000.
On November 1, as many as 5,652 people came to Bali, while the following days until November 5, the figures reached 4,251, 4,000, 5,062, and 5,512 visitors.
The number continued to increase on November 6 with 5,991 travelers landing on the Island of Gods before decreasing again from November 7-10 to 4,848, 5,006, 4,636, and 4,068 people respectively.

During the following week of November 11-18, it was only on the 17th that the number dipped to below 5,000 tourists.
In November, the highest figures for the Bali tourism sector were on November 13 and 16 with 6,718 and 6,523 domestic tourists passing through the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, respectively.
