Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait Launches Pocket Book on Labor, InK Magazine

November 23, 2020, 11.52 PM

KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait launched a pocket book on labor and InK Magazine in a video broadcast via its official social media on Friday, November 20.

The launch was done virtually as Kuwait is still in the fourth phase of the gradual go-to normality plan.

“The event was held virtually as the face-to-face meeting is still not allowed,” Labor Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait Alamsyah Aziz said in a statement.

The pocket book on labor covers matters on work contract, employment visa, salary, working hours, day off, resignation procedures, overtime, and severance pay based on the regulations in Kuwait, the statement said.

“This pocket book covers the most frequent questions raised by Indonesian migrant workers (PMI). This provides the rights and responsibilities of migrant workers to minimize labor issues,” said Alamsyah.

Written in Indonesian, the pocket guide can also be used as a reference for the prospective PMI in Kuwait.

“The target audience is not only for the PMI who are already working in Kuwait but also for PMI who are interested in working in Kuwait. Therefore, the pocket guide is published in Indonesian,” Alamsyah added.

Meanwhile, the InK Magazine covers the latest information on Indonesia-Kuwait relations and cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, and employment.

“The magazine also publishes articles related to the protection of Indonesian citizens and people-to-people contact, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the Indonesian community in Kuwait,” he said.

“It also covers the unique facts of the Middle East’s influence on Indonesian culture,” said Alamsyah.

The magazine is published in two languages, English and Indonesian, as it also targets foreign readers in Kuwait, especially the Kuwaiti.
