2. Local Tourists Are Coming Back to Bali
Bali’s tourism slowly comes back after the tourism industry has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The number of local tourists visiting the Indonesian resort of Bali has been increasing since the long weekend in October.
“The average local tourist arrivals [at the end of October] reached 5,000 people per day. Some days reached 4,800 people and up to 6,000 people per day,” Bali Tourism Agency chief Putu Astawa told Kompas.com on Thursday, November 19.
The number of local tourists visiting Bali in October and November is starting to improve when compared to the previous months as many regional governments began to ease mobility restrictions.
From July to early October, the number of local tourist arrivals reached only 3,000-3,500 people per day.
Meanwhile, in November the number of local tourist arrivals via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport reached 5,000 people. For example, he said, the number of arrivals on November 1 stood at 5,652 people.
