KOMPAS.com – If you are stuck on where to go in Indonesia’s capital city and keen on finding unique things to do in Jakarta, then the Cipayung cattle farm may interest you.
While Jakarta is home to plenty of places to visit during the new normal, the cattle farm ecotourism area in Pondok Ranggon, Cipayung, East Jakarta offers an alternative solution to finding things to do in the city.
As reported by Antara, the ecotourism area aims to educate the public about cattle production and livestock products.
“Here, local residents not only focus on breeding cattle, but they are also included in social and economic empowerment measures. Livestock production is the most important aspect taught to visitors,” said Rusmiati, Head of the Livestock Breeding and Health at Jakarta’s Agency for Food, Marine, and Fishery Security.

Aside from Cipayung, visitors can learn about cattle production in South Jakarta and Central Jakarta.
Rusmiati said that cattle breeders are directly involved in supporting ecotourism measures especially those who have extensive experience handling livestock.
Milking cows and producing cow milk

However, the site aims to teach visitors more than about cattle farming as it also strives to showcase the business potential of the niche sector.
“Visitors will be invited to see how a young cow up to an adult cow is milked, and how to produce quality fresh milk.”
If you have been looking for a place to go in Jakarta to get your hands dirty, then look no further as visitors can directly milk a cow as well as go through the entire process up until the step of selling the milk.
“If visitors like dairy cows then they can try the milk here or take it home.”
