Fun activities in Lombok vary from visiting beaches to climbing mountains, thus it is not surprising it has become a dream travel destination for many tourists.
Kompas.com has selected the top 25 places to visit in Lombok if you are planning to visit the area.

1. Pink Beach
Pink Beach is one of the more popular beaches in the area offering breathtaking views and pink sand. Lombok’s Pink Beach has crystal clear water and a beautiful view in the depths of the water making it ideal for snorkeling and diving.
To make it easier for tourists, you can also rent the equipment there. Due to its calm waves, Pink Beach is ideal for swimmers and families with children.

Local tourists are subject to a IDR 10,000 fee per person, foreigners pay IDR 50,000 per person, local students pay IDR 5,000 per person, and a group of overseas students pay IDR 25,000 per person.
2. Senggigi Beach
Another popular beach in the area is Senggigi Beach which is situated in Jalan Raya Senggigi, Batu Layar, West Lombok Regency.
Senggigi Beach has crystal blue waters ideal for snorkelers seeking stunning underwater views. With calm waves, the beach is suitable for first-time surfers.
If you are looking to enjoy the sights and sounds of Senggigi Beach, you only need to pay a fee of IDR 15,000 per person.
3. Tanjung Aan Beach
Tanjung Aan Beach is a renowned beach in Lombok that has managed to maintain its pristine condition mainly due to the limited facilities available around the location.
Tanjung Aan Beach directly faces the Indian Ocean with a shoreline of over 2 kilometers and is surrounded by the Merese Hill.
The beach is located in Sengkol, Kuta, Pujut, Central Lombok Reggency and offers two types of sand: soft and textured. Because the waves are relatively calm, visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or surfing here.

Tanjung Aan Beach is not far from the Lombok Airport and is accessible by car or motorcycle, and takes around 30 minutes to reach. Parking at the beach costs IDR 5,000 for motorcycles and IDR 10,000 for cars.
4. Merese Hill
Merese Hill surrounds Tanjung Aan Beach and is located in Jalan Kuta Lombok, Kuta Pujut, Central Lombok Regency.
It is one of the trendiest destinations in Lombok where visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean and sky as well as beautiful sunset views.
Merese Hill is a very ‘Instagrammable’ spot that is frequently used for pre-wedding photoshoots. There is no entrance fee and can be accessed on foot from Tanjung Aan Beach.
5. Umbrella Rock
Umbrella Rock is a large standing rock that naturally formed its shape and beauty and is a unique place to visit in Lombok.
No matter the angle, the rock is all-around enjoyable to view and as such makes it another ‘Instagrammable’ spot. Located east of Tanjung Aan Beach, visitors can hire a boat from the beach for IDR 250,000 to reach Umbrella Rock.
6. Malimbu Beach
One of the places to visit in Lombok is Malimbu Beach that is extremely pristine and rarely visited. This beauty is located in Malaka Village in North Lombok Regency.
One of the factors that attract tourists to Malimbu Beach is its spectacular coral reefs dubbed Malimbu Coral Reefs that has become a common photography location.
There is no entrance fee and visitors can choose from walking around the soft sand or renting a canoe or boat to explore the surrounding waters.
7. Malimbu Hill
One of the favorite activities to do while in Lombok is to watch the sunset, and it is possible to do so when you visit Malimbu Hill.
The destination has two points that offer great sights on the east and west namely, Malimbu Beach.

From Malimbu Hill, visitors are able to see Agung Mountain in Bali, Gili Trawangan Islands, Gili Air, and Gili Meno from afar.
