BANGLI, KOMPAS.com – Visiting Penglipuran Village is one of the things to do in Bali and now it is again possible after it reopened on October 17.
The coronavirus pandemic prompted quarantine measures that forcibly closed the popular Balinese village.
Penglipuran Village Chief Wayan Supat explained that the reopening of the Balinese village came after rounds of meetings with local residents and important figures of the traditional village.

“It has been approved by the government. The Governor’s letter also approved the reopening of certain sectors such as tourism.”
He added that by allowing visitors to come to the village, the local economy can be revived after being shut for eight months.
Although visiting Penglipuran Village is one of the things to do in Bali, visitors will have to observe health protocols put in place in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The visitor capacity has been capped at 50 percent and each tourist is required to wear a mask, regularly wash their hands, and get their body temperature checked.
Wayan hopes that allowing tourist arrivals into Penglipuran Village will boost the livelihoods of residents.
