JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Policemen from Indonesia’s elite anti-terrorism unit Detachment 88 (Densus 88) arrested three terror suspects in Jakarta and South Tangerang, near the capital on Friday, Jan. 20.
“Today, three suspected of terrorism-related offenses were arrested,” said National Police spokesperson Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan.
The three suspects are identified by the initials AS, ARH, and SN.
Ramadhan said AS was arrested in North Jakarta. The police said that AS is part of the outlawed Islamic State of Indonesia group, locally known as Negara Islam Indonesia (NII).

Meanwhile, two other terror suspects are linked to a banned religious organization in Indonesia. "ARH was arrested in South Jakarta, while SN was in South Tangerang. The No. 2 and No. 3 are on the police’s most wanted list since the arrest of members from an outlawed hardline Islamist group FPI Condet in March 2021,” he said.
Ramadhan has not provided further details regarding the arrest of the terror suspects.
