Indonesian Two-Star General Dishonorably Discharged by Police’s Code of Ethics Commission

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Inspector General Ferdy Sambo was dishonorably discharged by the Police’s Code of Ethics Commission for committing the premeditated murder of his aide-de-camp Brigadier Joshua which is considered a serious violation of the Police Professional Code of Ethics.

The decision was taken after the Police’s Code of Ethics Commission conducted a parallel code of ethics trial here from Thursday morning until the wee hours of Friday.

“It is a dishonorable discharge, known by its acronym PTDH, as a member of the National Police,” State News Antara quoted the commission’s Head Commissioner General Ahmad Dofiri, who chaired the trial.

Sambo also received a special placement sanction for 21 days at the Mobile Brigade Command Headquarters.

Moreover, Sambo was proven to have violated the code of ethics by committing a disgraceful act.

After the verdict was read out, the commission’s chief asked Sambo if he accepted the decision.

Before the trial commission, Sambo admitted to all actions he had committed and expressed regret.

Sambo also voiced his right to appeal and was ready for any decision.

“We admit all our actions and regret all the actions we had done. Allow us to file an appeal. Whatever the appeal decision will be, we are ready to accept,” the two-star general Sambo said.
