KOMPAS.com – Indonesia finished third in the overall medal tally with 241 medals comprising 69 gold, 92 silver, and 80 bronze at the end of the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Vietnam from May 12-23, 2022.
The host Vietnam topped the standings after securing 446 medals with 205 gold, 125 silver, and 116 bronze. Thailand came in second place, capturing 331 medals with 92 gold, 103 silver, and 136 bronze.
On Sunday, May 22 Indonesia secured additional 10 gold from shooting, weightlifting, badminton, indoor volleyball, basketball, boxing, swimming, and e-sports.

The Indonesian Basketball team made history, clinching its first gold medal since the 1977 SEA Games in Malaysia. Indonesia won an 85-81 victory over the Philippines in the final, breaking the dominance of the latter in 13 consecutive years since 1991.
In other sport games, the men’s volleyball national team won gold in defense of its champion title. Meanwhile, Indonesia also secured a gold medal in the e-sport through its PUBG mobile team for the first time.
The closing ceremony will take place on Monday evening, May 23.
