KOMPAS.com – Indonesia’s rowing team clinched the first gold for the country at the SEA Games in Vietnam on Wednesday, May 11.
The two rowers Kakan Kusmana and Ardi Isadi finished in seven minutes and 1.385 seconds in the Lightweight Men’s Double Sculls category at the Thuy Nguyen Hai Phong Aquatics Center.
Came at second was Cris Neivarez and Christian del Rosario of the Philippines who secured a silver medal as they finished in seven minutes and 5.585 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam rowers Nhu Dinh Nam and Bui Van Hoan finished at seven minutes and 8.605 seconds to win the bronze.

Indonesia also secured a silver medal in the Women’s Quadruple Sculls category. The four other rowers on the Indonesia team are Puteri Agni Anugerah, Dewi Purwanti, Maslin Efrilia, and Annisa Meilani Yahya. They finished in seven minutes, 23.614 seconds. Meanwhile, Vietnam earned a gold medal as their rowers finished in seven minutes and 13.207 seconds.
Came at third place was the Philippine rowing team who finished at seven minutes and 28.879 seconds.
Indonesian rowers will also have chances to secure medals in the Men’s Double Sculls and Women’s Coxless Four.
