BADUNG, KOMPAS.com – Bali’s Tanjung Benoa may be a haven for water sports enthusiasts, but it is also home to an important turtle sanctuary.
When visiting Indonesia and making a pitstop at Tanjung Benoa, travelers have an array of water sports activities to choose from: parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, fly fishing, water skiing, or riding a banana boat or rolling donut.
Beneath the exhilarating recreation offered, Tanjung Benoa’s Turtle Island is its most important attraction yet.

To reach Turtle Island, travelers must rent a boat that will cost $47.81 (Rp 700,000). Each can accommodate up to 15 people.
The glass-bottom boat will allow you to see the vibrant marine life that is core to Tanjung Benoa’s success as a tourist attraction in Bali.
To enter Turtle Island, you are required to pay an entry fee of $0.68 (Rp 10,000) per person. The island acts as a miniature zoo where you will also find bats, crocodiles, iguanas, pythons, and of course, sea turtles.

Turtle Island is home to 200 turtle — green sea turtles, olive ridley sea turtles, and Hawksbill sea turtles.
Newly hatched turtles to senior turtles call the island home where nearly 70 percent are released back into the wild while the rest remain on the island.
