KOMPAS.com – People who want to experience a fancy meal on a flying dinner table in Jakarta can now book their reservation online as Indonesia’s Lounge in The Sky will launch in January next year.

Mangkuluhur City in collaboration with DITS Asia will provide a unique dining experience in the 50-meter height of Jakarta’s sky from Boca Rica Tapas Bar & Lounge in South Jakarta near the iconic four-leaf clover Semanggi interchange.

During one hour of dining, guests will be indulged in an open-air dining experience that has earned CNN and Forbes recognition as “The Most Extravagant Meals” in the world.

“Mangkuluhur City and DITS Asia will collaborate to bring this culinary experience to life to revive the local and international tourism sector,” said Hampuss Land’s President Director Darma Mangkuluhur Hutomo during a virtual press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (11/4).

This culinary experience is the first time in Indonesia and the third in the world after Belgium and Malaysia.

“Lounge in The Sky in Indonesia will be the third in the world. As Jakarta is a city full of passion and energy, we all need to celebrate it and have fun after we stay at home for almost two years,” Founder and DITS Asia CEO Arvin Randahwa said.

Arvin hoped that the restaurant could bring back tourism which is one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and create a new experience for the industry in the country. Jakarta is a big city with diversity and has a good taste in culinary and lifestyle products.

Founded in May 2006 in Brussels, Belgium, Lounge in The Sky has experience in more than 60 cities around the world and has served more than 10,000 times.

While enjoying the meals, guests will use seat belts, and accompanying staff will be equipped with a safety harness. Safety supervisors will brief guests on safety regulations before the platform is raised. The safety standards have been approved by TÜV SÜD, an international organization from Germany that validates safety and security levels.
