BALI, KOMPAS.com – As the Indonesian resort of Bali is gearing up to welcome international travelers starting from October 14, as many as 35 hotels have been selected to support the hotel quarantine policy for new arrivals.
The move came after the plan to reopen I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport to international flights was announced recently. The government closed it for over a year to stem the spread of the Covid-19.
The chosen hotels are located in the green zones – which are projected as areas with zero Covid cases. This includes Denpasar city, Badung regency and Gianyar regency. Previously, Tourism and Creative Minister Sandiaga Uno that tourist establishments in these three locations will strictly implement cleanliness, health, safety, and environment (CHSE) measures to stem the spread of coronavirus.

International travelers who intend to visit the resort island are required to undergo testing for Covid-19 and eight days of quarantine at their own cost upon arrival. International travelers are also required to show proof of hotel bookings for the quarantine.
“During this first stage, 35 hotels have been selected [for the hotel quarantine],” said I Gusti Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya, deputy head of culture, environment, and public relations at the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali chapter on Wednesday, October 6.

Indonesia will reopen Bali to international flights from several countries such as South Korea, China, Japan, United Arab Emirates, and New Zealand, according to Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Monday, October 4.
Indonesia started to gradually reopen the country’s economy after the coronavirus infections continue to decline. However, the Covid-19 restrictions on public activities in Java-Bali remain in place and it has been further extended by two weeks until October 18.
