JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Indonesia recorded a total of 1,477 cases of new Covid-19 variants as of August 7, said the Health Ministry’s Research and Development Agency.
Of the total number of cases, the highly contagious Delta variant of Covid-19 is now the dominant strain in the country. Over the weekend, as many as 1,368 cases of Delta variant were detected followed by 62 cases of Alpha variant and 17 cases of Beta variant.
Meanwhile, on August 4, the Agency detected a total of 1,409 cases of new Covid-19 variants in 25 provinces out of 34 provinces. During the previous period, 1,331 cases of Delta variant were found, while Alpha and Beta variants reached 61 and 17 cases, respectively.
