Indonesia’s Jasa Raharja Insurance Company Traces Next of Kin Among Sriwijaya Air Flight SJ 182’s Victims
Indonesian travel insurance company Jasa Raharja has started to trace the next of kin of the 62 passengers and crew of Sriwijaya Air Flight SJ 182 who were on board the flight as it fell into the sea near Jakarta’s Thousand Islands regency.
“We have traced 42 next of kin related to the passengers and crew of Sriwijaya Air Flight SJ 182,” said Regy S. Wijaya, the head of Jasa Raharja’s West Kalimantan branch in Pontianak, the destination of Flight SJ 182.
As quoted by the Antara state news agency, Regy added that Jasa Raharja “traced [the next of kin] through the IDs of the passengers, their family cards, and other proof.”
Regy noted that the 20 of the next of kin are from West Kalimantan. He did not disclose the amount of compensation that Jasa Raharja will provide them.
Of the 62 people on board the Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500, 50 were passengers while 12 were crew members.
