Anies has suggested that the coordination aspect of such duties be carried out together with the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation to ensure proper monitoring of every individual that travels to and from the Greater Jakarta area.

4. Sanctions for gatherings

As part of the newly-issued Christmas and New Year’s holiday restrictions in Jakarta, gatherings of more than five people will not be permitted from December 18, 2020 – January 8, 2021.

Anies Baswedan has instructed the municipal police to enforce health protocols and prevent a crowd of more than five people during the year-end holiday in Jakarta.

The implementation of Covid-19 health protocols is regulated under the Jakarta Governor Decree Number 41 Year 2020 under Section 11, Article 1.

Failure to adhere to public health regulations during the year-end holiday in Jakarta and throughout the enforcement of large-scale social restrictions in the city will result in:

• A written warning
• Social punishment whereby the individual will clean public facilities while wearing a vest
• Face an administrative sanction of minimum Rp 100,000 and maximum Rp 250,000
