JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – AirAsia Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will synergize its flights with the promotions and sales of hotels in Indonesia.
The budget airline agreed on an MoU with the Indonesian Association of Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI), which will integrate hotels under the PHRI network with the airline’s platform on www.airasia.com.
The objective of linking Indonesia’s restaurants and hotels with AirAsia Indonesia is for both parties to create attractive promotional packages and sales.
“We expect that this step between AirAsia and PHRI will bring about immense benefits going forward for restaurants and hotels in Indonesia,” said AirAsia Indonesia CEO Veranita Yosephine Sinaga.

Veranita said hotels that agree to partner with the Malaysian airline will gain access to its ticket inventories at competitive prices.
Doing so will enable a combined price that includes the price of hotel accommodation that will be bundled with other attractive promotions.
Veranita added that hotel owners can decide their own prices that customers can enjoy.
However, passengers are still required to book their hotel accommodation independently on the airline’s platform and without having to order a plane ticket.

Customers are also not required to book a hotel upon purchasing a flight ticket.
“This will be beneficial for people who want to travel or are located in a destination area. We hope that our collaboration will indirectly support the local economy particularly those in tourism destination areas which are anxiously waiting for the return of tourists next year.”
PHRI Chairman Hariyadi BS Sukamdani is confident the association will benefit from AirAsia’s strong branding and mature distribution channel.
He is also certain that given the hardships endured by restaurants and hotels in Indonesia during the coronavirus pandemic, the MoU with the Malaysian airline is the first step towards recovery for the national tourism industry.
