Jakarta’s Steak Restaurant Pioneer Offers Its Famous Beef for Home Cooks

KOMPAS.com – The popular steak restaurant in Jakarta HOLYCOW! recently left its Radio Dalam location for a new humble abode in Plaza 5, Pondok Indah.

Its Steak Hotel by HOLYCOW! not only found a new home, but it is also now a quality meat shop in Jakarta.

“I’ve long wanted to have my own meat shop which comes from my love of meat. Our meat shop offers a wide variety of raw, quality beef ready for cooking,” said the mastermind behind the capital city’s successful restaurant chain, Wynda Mardio.

Wynda explained that 80 percent of what is sold is for meat for steaks, 10 percent are meat for home cooking, and the remaining 10 percent is spices.

The restaurant also works with Indonesian SMEs for a selection of food and non-food items which are displayed on a long rack at the Steal Hotel by HOLYCOW!

Otherwise, visitors can choose from the gourmet beef selection from Wagyu, dry-aged beef, tomahawk, Angus beef, and Picanha Wagyu.

There is also high-quality beef imported from Australia, Japan, Brazil, and Indonesia’s own Bali.

In this quality meat shop in Jakarta, visitors can choose their preferred meat and ask for it to be prepared into steak which they can then enjoy at the restaurant for an extra $3.35 (Rp 49,000).

The raw beef costs vary from $11.61 (Rp 170,000) - $212 (Rp 3,100,000) per kilogram and can also be bought per gram.

At this popular steak restaurant in Jakarta city, visitors can also purchase the ‘Steak Set, Make You Own HOLYCOW!’ which offers ready-made meat with prices ranging from $6.15 (Rp 90,000) - $11.12 (Rp 162,727).
