JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A fishing boat crew member was found dead on Saturday, November 6, a day after their vessel crashed into a shipwreck near Muara Angke port in North Jakarta on Friday.
A joint search and rescue (SAR) team managed to find the body of the crewman identified as Minal Aidin, 50, at 10:40am local time.
“We finally found the victim this morning [Saturday]. Thanks for the cooperation between the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and members of the local’s search and rescue agency,” said Hendra Sudirman, SAR mission coordinator.

Hendra said that the victim has been evacuated to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital (RSCM) in Central Jakarta.
Fishing boat KM Mina Rejeki sank near the enter and exit channel of Muara Angke port on November 6.
The Jakarta Police’s water and air police (Polairud) director, Police Commissioner Edfrie R Maith, said that the incident occurred after KM Mina Rejeki unloaded fish at the Muara Angke port.

“On Friday, November 6, 2020, at around 6:15am local time, KM Mina Rejeki unloaded fish at Muara Angke Port and they’re all done at 9:30am,” said Edfrie on Friday.
The boat carrying 14 crew members then sailed to Muara Baru port to dock. Shortly after, the boat hit the shipwreck then capsized and sank. The entire crew jumped into the sea. A total of 13 crewmen were reported safe.
