JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A total of 509,140 vehicles departed from Greater Jakarta from October 27-29 due to the public holiday celebrating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday on Thursday, state-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga recorded.
Corporate communication and community development group head of the company Dwimawan Heru said the number was based on the total vehicles leaving the capital from several toll gates. This includes the Cikampek Utama gate and Kalihurip Utama gate in the east, respectively, Cikupa gate in the west, and the Ciawi gate in the south.

“The total number of vehicles leaving Greater Jakarta increased 40.3 percent [during the public holiday] as compared to regular days,” Heru said in a statement on Friday, October 30.
He said that from the total vehicles, 50.02 percent or 254.673 vehicles headed to the east, 27.73 percent or 141,184 vehicles headed to the west, and 22.25 percent or 113,283 vehicles went to the south.

“PT Jasa Marga urges toll road users to anticipate the trips before entering the toll roads. Please ensure that drivers are well to drive and vehicles are in good condition,” Heru said.
“Road users should also follow the health protocols, have enough fuel in the vehicle’s tank, have sufficient electronic money to pay toll fees, follow the road signs, as well as stop and rest if you feel tired,” he added.
