“At the hospital, he was using ventilators to help him breathe. Unfortunately, his wife and child were also being treated in the hospital,” Imam said.
He said that Mul had been moved to Sabhara (police control unit) from his previous post in Samapta (rapid response unit) so he could take a break from volunteering activities. However, Imam added, Mul often remained to do the volunteer work without orders from his superior.
Imam called on the police personnel and volunteers to always take care of their health, not to force themselves if they feel tired.
“The tasks of the volunteers and the Mobile Brigade Police are very heavy, making them vulnerable to contracting the virus from the red zones [high level of virus transmission]. Our protective equipment does not guarantee safety. Even the disinfectants can cause cancer in a long run,” he said.
