“On my initiative, I got tested and the result was positive for Covid-19,” Arif said in a press statement on Saturday, September 19.
He said he was physically healthy though. He remains active in carrying out daily tasks and responsibilities as a rector, including calling for virtual meetings.
“I follow health protocols while self-isolating until I’m fully recovered,” he said.
Arif hopes that the entire academic community and staffers of IPB remain in good health amid their tight schedule every day. He also hopes that everyone maintains their health and abide by the health protocols so that the campus will remain conducive to learning.
“Please pray, may Allah grant us health and I also pray that all of us will always be blessed so that we can continue to work, innovate and inspire one another,” he said.
Arif said due to this condition he decided to extend and further tighten the period of restrictions on entering the campus for 14 days starting from Saturday.
“We have been following the directions of West Java Governor, Bogor Mayor, and Bogor Regent by reimposing restrictions on entering the IPB campus,” he said.
“I understand that it is very hard for all of us, and for that, I apologize for the inconvenience caused,” said Arif.
