LONDON, KOMPAS.com – The Scottish train derailment near Stonehaven has been deemed “an extremely serious incident” by the head of Scotland’s devolved government.
The deadly accident happened on Wednesday morning where one person is believed to have died, according to reports from Sky News.
"I've had an initial report from Network Rail and the emergency services and am being kept updated," Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said on Twitter. "All my thoughts are with those involved."

Emergency services stated that they were dealing with a train derailment near Stonehaven on the east coast of Scotland.
Video footage circulating on social media showed smoke rising from the scene.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson similarly described the Scottish train derailment near Stonehaven as a "very serious incident".
"I am saddened to learn of the very serious incident in Aberdeenshire and my thoughts are with all of those affected. My thanks to the emergency services at the scene," he tweeted.
