The Indonesian President further highlighted how technological advancement gives rise to more difficult criminal acts.

Crimes harnessing sophisticated technology and cross-border cybercrimes require high levels of anticipation and mitigation.

“For that reason, you have a duty to keep learning be it learning on your own or through an institution,” Jokowi said.

State ideologies

During the virtual event, Jokowi asked the prospective junior officers to remain consistent in maintaining the state’s ideologies.

The state's ideologies include Pancasila, Unity in Diversity (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika), and the Archipelagic State of the Indonesian Republic (Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia).

Prospective junior officers ought to nurture the spirit of unity, fraternity, and mutual cooperation, said the Indonesian President. 

He reminded the future junior officers of the duty to provide the best services to Indonesian citizens, nation, and country.
